Located in League City, Tx, Magnolia Creek offers a 27-hole links-style course that invites golfers to step back in time and experience rolling hills, deep entrenched bunkers, and native grasses similar to legendary courses. The Thomas Clark design has 3 unique 9 holes courses, England, Scotland and Ireland each with architectural features and beauty different from the others.  With spacious fairways, numerous bunkers and a world-class 22-acre practice facility, Magnolia Creek is a unique golf experience for the Houston area.  The course has a Rainbird electric irrigation system throughout, Toro equipment package, Better Billy Bunkers, Tifeagle greens and 419 on tees, fairways and primary roughs. 

 Job Summary:

The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for successfully operating the Golf Course Maintenance and Clubhouse Grounds Maintenance Department. The Superintendent works closely with the General Manager and/or Regional VP of Agronomy on capital improvement expansion projects and interacts with the Head Golf Professional to maximize the number of rounds of golf played by scheduling maintenance practices around Member play and outings to maximize efficiency, which is essential.

Day-to-Day:

  • Train and implement procedures for the Golf Course Maintenance Staff.
  • Supervise or perform Chemical and Fertilizer applications.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of the Golf Course Maintenance staff and crew as directed on a timely basis.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to staff, and recommendations to Senior Management regarding compensation, advancement, and training needs.
  • Determine appropriate personnel action (counseling, written warnings, suspension, or termination) in the event of performance, attendance problems, or violations of company policies and coordinate with Human Resources, Legal, and Senior Management as necessary.
  • Assign and develop work-efficient schedules to meet the staffing needs of Golf Operations and as warranted, recruit and hire staff to provide superior level of member services.
  • Develop relationships with Members to promote golf activities.
  • Effective communication with staff, members, and Senior Management. 

 About You:

  • 3 - 5 years experience in Golf Course Maintenance management. 
  • Minimum 2-year College Agronomy Degree preferred
  • State Pesticide Applicators License.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping as required by local, state, and federal laws.
  • Team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employees, and guests.
  • Bilingual (English - Spanish) communication ability preferred.

Compensation Package: Salary range 115-135K based on experience; Bonus Potential; Comprehensive Benefits including Medical, Dental, and Vision; 401k Retirement Plan; Ongoing Training and Development.
