Overview: Partner with the Superintendent to direct and coordinate golf course maintenance activities such as maintaining quality course condition; selecting, developing, and retaining employees; and exceeding guest expectations.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Golf Course Superintendent to oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic operations, ensuring cost control and efficient utilization of resources.
  • Provides advice and coordination with the Golf Course Superintendent on any issues related to golf course maintenance.
  • Direct and actively participate in the construction and maintenance of the grounds, ensuring they are well-maintained and visually appealing.
  • Administer and enforce rules, regulations, and policies for staff members, including members and guests, to ensure a harmonious and professional environment.
  • Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to maintain fiscal responsibility and professionalism in all maintenance operations.
  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of staff members, while maintaining accurate training and performance records.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of irrigation systems, overseeing repairs and irrigation duties to maintain course standards.
  • Oversee and perform general maintenance tasks such as mowing, raking, blowing, mulching, sod work, aerification, and course set-up.
  • Assist in special projects and undertake any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance or a related field.
  • Solid knowledge of turfgrass management principles, including irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
  • Experience operating and maintaining golf course maintenance equipment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A degree or certification in turfgrass management or a related field is preferred but not required.

 

 

 

 

Compensation Package:
